Some people feel an initial discomfort from lying on the mat. This is natural. Stay with the discomfort, it will disappear after just a minute or two and is quickly replaced by a pleasant feeling of relaxation, like after a night of deep sleep. It is also common to feel a warm prickling sensation just after the discomfort abates.
Alternatively, you can use a thin cotton cloth between your skin and the Mandalamat™. It is best not to use a towel as it will be too thick, but rather a sheet or thinner fabric. Placing a thin cotton cloth between your skin and the mat will reduce somewhat the positive effects of the Mandalamat™.
